After hearing that we might be working on a church in Poplarville, some 40 miles away from the Long Beach church where we’re staying, some of us began to adjust to the strange possibility of having to do roofing along with sheetrocking. Beth began to adjust to the idea of having us pack our own lunches rather than returning to eat lunch at the Long Beach church. Now it appears that we’ll be working in places rather close to the church—within 5 to 10 minutes.
More than anything else, this reminds us that we simply roll with the punches and do whatever we’re asked and respond in whatever way we can to the needs of the moment. The site manager, Van Richardson, indicated that 10 days ago or so the outside pipes on the showers burst and that he still didn’t have usable water in his trailer. It could be a chilly week taking evening showers outside in 45 degree weather!
Jim K, Jim/Beth M, Steve/Pam, Harold/Dot, and Tara will be driving down there. Ed will arrive there on his own shortly ahead of us, as he’s coming from a meeting in New Orleans. Jim and Beth will take a detour home, visiting his brother in Louisiana.
It’s safe to say that we’re getting pumped for the trip. Departure happens from St. Barnabas at 2:00 Sunday afternoon!

Blessings to all on your on your trip. This is my favorite trip prayer.
The journey blessing
Bless to me, O God,
The earth beneath my foot,
Bless to me, O God,
The path whereon I go;
Bless to me, O God,
The thing of my desire;
Thou Evermore of evermore,
Bless Thou to me my rest.
Bless to me the thing
Whereon is set my mind,
Bless to me the thing
Whereon is set my love;
Bless to me the thing
Whereon is set my hope;
O Thou King of kings,
Bless Thou to me mine eye!

I have no idea what I’m doing, but enjoyed reading about the send-off and journey to Mississippi.
Other than Claire eloping, a small fire in Providence Hall and several police cars in the parking lot, things are going pretty good. Don’t worry.

Your Photolog almost has audio.
“Looking up,and looking down
everybody look’n ’round.
Insulate, tape and bed.
This is what the prophet said”.
Sounds like you’ve had a great trip
so far. I can just imagine what you’re
doing at this very moment. My love and encouragement
is with you always.
